How long does it take to receive my registration documents?

Once your renewal is processed with the DMV, it can take up to 90 days to receive your documents in the mail.

Is there an advantage to renewing early?

No. You are required to renew prior to your expiration, but it does not benefit you to renew well in advance of your expiration.

What qualifications must be met to renew online?

You cannot renew if your registration has been suspended or revoked, nor are you permitted to renew if your registration has been expired for more than one year. Recent inspections are also a requirement, so make sure you’ve passed inspection within the past 12 months. There are other cases where you will be ineligible for online renewal, including vehicles that exempt from registration fees, vehicles that require proof of insurance, vehicles that weight more than 55,000 lbs, etc.

What information is needed to renew online?

You will need your plate number, registration class, the last name of the person on the registration, and a valid major credit card.

Will I be able to print a temporary registration document?

Yes, upon submitting payment you will be issued a temporary registration document that is valid for 90 days. You may use this as proof of registration until your documentation arrives in the mail.

How do I calculate my registration renewal fees?

Please refer to the fee chart provided here. It includes registration fees, use taxes, and supplemental fees.

Is this the official DMV website?

No, we are not the DMV. We are a Licensed Private Service Bureau under contract with the state to offer registration services. Our official, state-issued license number is PSB C No. 5493.

How much does it cost to use your service?

In addition to registration fees and taxes assessed by the state, we charge an agency fee ranging from $10 to $20, depending on factors including the cost of your registration. This fee is not required, and may be circumvented by dealing directly with the DMV.
